Your other assignment this week is to find a Research Paper Abstract and analyze it. Remember to study what you have discussed in class about writing abstracts and check if the abstract you chose has the characteristics that correspond to the information you have studied. You should post your comments until Tuesday, September 27^th, 4p.m.

Online Activities – 4^th week

Dear students,

Your assignment this week is to find a text in your study/research area in which perfect tenses are being used. Try to look for texts that are relevant for you, you can select one that you have already read or one that you would like to read (this is the chance to do that).

Remember to cite the source of the text.

If it’s a paper or article, you don’t need to analyze the whole text, you can choose a part of it, al least one page, so that we can have a better idea of what the text is about.

After finding the text and selecting the part you want to analyze, answer the following questions:

a) Using your own words, what is main topic of the text you choose? What is the text about?

 b) Identify which perfect tenses were used and try to explain why they were used, you should copy at least two sentences to justify your answer.

ACTIVITY 1

You have discussed about some true or false sentences about Stéfanie. I hope you can remember what you have talked about the verb tenses used. Well, now it’s time to try true or false about your online teacher.

a)     Read the following sentences and decide if they are TRUE or FALSE.

2nd Week- Feedback

Hi guys.

I really enjoyed reading your comments. I sent your individual feedback by e-mail.

You did learn a lot. You were able to compare the videos and the discussions you had in class and you also pointed out the most important parts of each video.

Your academic bios were very good. Just keep in mind that it’s advisable to write it using the third person singular. Something that you mentioned was that it is important to consider who you are writing it for. Keep this in mind. Depending on your audience, you may add some other information.

Online Activities – 2nd week

Dear students,

Here are the instructions for your online activities. Remember that you have to post your answers until September 5^th , 8 a.m.

Since you have been studying about academic biographies, we will discuss a little bit more about this topic and you will have the chance to practice.

First, I would like to ask you to watch two videos we have selected. After watching the videos, try to review what you have studied about academic biographies during your classes and answer the following questions. If you prefer, you can write only one answer for the all the questions. Remember that you will post it as a comment. You can also comment on your friend’s comment if you want.
